Dorchester Organizing Training Initiative (DOT-I)

The Dorchester Organizing and Training Initiative (DOT-I) is a leadership development initiative for Vietnamese youth and young adults to organize and mobilize the Vietnamese community in Dorchester to become more civically and politically engaged in issues affecting their everyday lives.

DOT-I is a program of the Asian American Resource Workshop (AARW), a member-based pan-Asian social justice organization working for the empowerment of the Asian Pacific Islander community by addressing current issues through programs around arts, education, and activism.  We believe in winning with the collective power of the Vietnamese community in Dorchester for social change.

The DOT-I Fellowship Program provides an opportunity for youth and young adults to develop leadership skills and competencies through various training on community organizing, activism, and facilitation.

Though there are many programs and services within the Vietnamese community, there is a lack of opportunities for youth and young adults to stay connected and be leaders in their communities of Dorchester. DOT-I seeks to support a sustainable Dorchester through building young leaders in our community.

This Fall, we will be welcoming our 9th cohort! Applications for Summer/Fall 2023 DOT-I are now open. If you are interested, have questions, or want to learn more please contact Teresa at teresa@aarw.org
